Are the Colts "Too Soft" for Baltimore?

There's an article in today's IndyStar that's worth reading. It shows how Baltimore is already talking smack about how they're going to pound the Colts. Actually, it's only linebackers Ray Lewis and Bart Scott talking, but I'm sure their whole team (and fans) is thinking the same thing. Here are a few of the quotes:
"I think it's going to be a painful day for Joseph Addai." -Scott

"I'm pouring this on Peyton this week." -Scott, while holding up a bottle of Tobasco sauce

"...no matter how many times Joseph Addai touches the football, he's going to be hit, bottom line." -Lewis

"You can be pretty all you want to. It's going to be a physical ballgame, no matter how you want to look at it. What this defense creates right now is it creates matchup problems for people, that we cannot be blocked." -Lewis

The article also references Joey Porter's (Steelers' linebacker)comments from last years playoffs. He also implied that the Colts were "soft."

"They don't want to just sit there, line up and play football...They don't want to play smash-mouth football...They can't say that finesse game is physical; it's clearly not physical. If they were a physical football team like that, they would just do what we do, line up and run the football. You know what I mean?" -Joey Porter

Of course, Porter is a moron who went on to say, "They [the Colts] want it to be a thinking game instead of a football game." But, as often happens when players talk trash about Indy sports teams (Rasheed Wallace?), the Colts made him sound like a genius.

I really hope this year is different. I hope Addai pounds the crap out of that ball and runs for 150 yards and two TDs. I hope our defense stuffs Jamal and knocks McNair around. Seriously, now more than ever, I really want the Colts to step up and play physical.

I don't think they're soft. I don't think you can say that about any team that does what the Colts have done. You can't win in this league if you're that soft. But at least for this game, I hope they beat the crap out of Baltimore.

You know Addai has read this junk and the rest of the Colts. I hope it just fuels the fire. I would love to see those cocky Baltimore LBs eat their words. Man, that would just be great. Please, please, play a good game this week Peyton. Watch Peyton's feet. If he starts getting too fluttery down there, you know he's in for a bad game. He's gotta stand tall and deliver. Now, more than ever, the Colts gotta play with a chip on their shoulder and win this game. (that's not true, but I just really hope they win)

I'm with you - I hope all the trash talking just motivates the Colts to put together a solid game. I'd love to see Marvin lay a block like he did last year and level one of those fat head Raven's too. That would be some icing on the cake. You remember that block?
