"Act Like You've Been There Before"- Colts Fans Gone Wild

*An explanation of my feelings can be summed up in the following picture made by Shawn. It comes from his post featured here. If you've never heard of "all your base are belong to us" (I hadn't, and it's dang hilarious) click here. This picture rocks. You're the man, Shawn.

Sunday night, as we were crusing through downtown Indianapolis, screaming our heads off and acting like we'd just won our freedom after 20 years of slavery (emotional slavery from never winning a championship), we saw a group of dejected Pats fans walking by. After exchanging a few choice words with them, they came up to our van and said, "C'mon, act like you've been here before."

My immediate response was, "Hey Moron! We haven't been here before!" Not really, but it was something along those lines. I have the utmost respect for the Patriots and their fans and the organization. I hate their guts, because that's what you do when you have a big rivalry, but I really do have a lot of respect for them. So hopefully they'll forgive me if I get a little excited and act out of control when my team finally beats them in a huge game. Especially the way we beat them Sunday. What with coming from 18 points behind and all.

So this is my official apology. I'm sorry for this blog turning into a Colts exclusive for the past month or so. I'm sorry for spending virtually every waking moment thinking about the Colts and how each game may be played out. I'm sorry for driving around downtown with a bullhorn and heckling losers who came a long way to have their hearts broken.

There, I said it. Now... screw you. I'm going to continue doing the exact same thing I've been doing. And I guarantee if the Colts win the Super Bowl, I'll be even more ridiculous.

I mean, I've never been here before, so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to act. Instead of hugging strangers at 11:30 at night, maybe we were supposed to just give ourselves a pat on the back and go to bed? I suppose in New England they all sit around sipping tea while shaking hands and congratulating each other on another fine year of football. Dud! What happened when the Red Sox finally beat the Yankees? I'm sure Boston was very respectful to all the Yankee fans that night.

And you know what else? If they do it again next year, I'll be acting the same way. I don't care how many times I've "been there," I'm not going to change a thing.

So screw you and let me celebrate. Dangit! I'm hyped! GO COLTS!

Sorry, I can't delete that last comment right now, I think it has to do with my firewall. I hope nobody is naive enough to go to that site and I'll remove the comment as soon as I can. Thanks.

This morning, we got a new employee. She worked here when I first started a year ago. Then she moved to...Chicago...in early March. Well, now she's back and I had to ask her right off the bat, "Which team are you rooting for?"

She gave the wrong answer.

There are now two Bears fans in our office, and they will be lucky to survive the next week and a half.

Can't wait for the game! Gonna make my mom's best Super Bowl nacho cheese dip ever. And Gramma J's making taco salad!

Ahhhhh! GO COLTS!!!!!!!

*Office update:

The battle has officially begun. When Wendy from the Windy City came over and taped a Bears poster onto our new employee's cubicle wall, it was too much for me. I had to counter by printing off several custom-made floor mats (thanks to Boog for the idea) with the Bears logo for wiping your snowy shoes off. Each employee in the office has one in front of their cube now (except for those scant Bear fans). They're selling like hot cakes!

As Wendy discovered this unexpected and sudden counterattack, she said significantly, "It's on!"

Let the games begin.

Go Colts!!!

Anyone want to get pissed off.... I know I am! One of my Best Friends husbands is going to the Superbowl. Bears Fan! However, whom did he get his tickets from... an Indianapolis based Insurance company that was lucky enough to have their season tickets selected to go to the Super bowl... and they pass it to two Bears fans?? What??

Tickler- Dude, keep it up man! I wish my office did fun stuff like that. Actually, I guess I'm glad there are no Bears fans here.

Ange- You don't know which insurance company, do you? That's terrible! Were they friends the insurance company, or did they just buy it from some stranger? That really sucks dangit.

GO HORSE!

AUL- Is their backer. My friend Stacy (the one who looks like me) her husband has a small insurance company in Illinois but is backed by this AUL (I think) a company based in Indy. Anyway, her husband made bank last week and one of the owners of the company sent him and his partner two tickets for the IU/Illinois game & offered them the Super Bowl tickets as a "thank you".
